Although MW Plumbing has served the plumbing needs of the local community for more than a century, we continually adopt new technologies for the benefit of our customers. We specialize in trenchless, no-dig technology for Manteca, CA sewer replacement. Trenchless methods are particularly efficient for replacing and repairing sewer drain pipes. We also utilize this technology for water line replacement.
The traditional method of sewer drain pipe replacement involves digging up the old pipe to install the new one. This is a labor intensive process that requires excavation of the yard. When the problem with the line is in a difficult position, such as under a large tree, house, or road, the process can become quite expensive and create substantial damage. Trenchless sewer repairs allow our experts to provide replacements with far less work and mess.
Trenchless sewer technology offers advantages that include:
At MW Plumbing in Manteca, CA, we have numerous experts on staff with the training and experience to ensure quality service. Sewer replacement requires specialized licensing and permits. Our company has all necessary licenses, insurance, and the training and experience to ensure that your sewer line is replaced properly.
While many companies simply offer one type of trenchless pipe repairs, MW Plumbing is one of only a select few that offer two different types of trenchless sewer line services. This means we can offer trenchless pipe repairs on sewer lines in nearly any condition. Whether your line has corroded to the point where it can’t be repaired or it’s too weak to withstand even so much as a hydrojetting service, you can count on us to fix the issue without having to dig a huge trench in your property.
Let’s take a look at some of the important differences between these two types of trenchless pipe repairs.
Pipe relining is a more common type of trenchless pipe repairs, as it is the less labor-intensive option and generally the one that’s better for lines that still have a decent amount of structural integrity. Relining involves a special tool pulling a resin-imbued pipe liner through the damaged section of sewer line. This liner is then inflated like a huge balloon and left in place to dry, where it hardens into a thin but extremely durable and water-tight lining inside your sewer line. This essentially renews your sewer line, giving it up to another 20 years of useful life!
However, pipe relining isn’t a perfect solution to all sewer line problems. As we stated previously, your sewer line needs to have a decent amount of structural integrity still in order for the process to work. If your line is too thin, badly corroded, or has any major cracks, splits, or separations, then this process won’t work for you. It also can’t correct for improper slope, bad routing, or seal out tree roots without having them completely removed first. It’s strongly advised you speak with a sewer line professional about whether or not this process is right for you.
Pipe bursting is a process that physically tears apart your current sewer line while simultaneously replacing it with a new one. This process uses a specialized tool known as a bursting head—an extremely hard, cone-shaped metal tool that’s slightly wider than the diameter of your sewer line. This tool is attached to a high-power winch on one side and to a flexible, durable replacement sewer line on the other. When the winch is turned on, it slowly pulls the bursting head through your old sewer line, causing it to literally tear apart while underground.
As it pulls through, it leaves the new sewer line in its place, creating a new sewer line in place of the old one, but without the old one still having to serve as the structure for the new one. Pipe bursting is more versatile than pipe relining. This type of trenchless sewer replacement can fix a wider variety of issues, including corroded or collapsed lines, brittle lines, and plenty more. It still can’t fix any shifted soil or improper slope, but it can be used for more sewer line replacement services than a pipe relining service can.
